Christine Guillain Université Saint-Louis Bruxelles

After being a lawyer, Christine Guillain is currently professor in criminal law and criminal procedure at the Faculty of Law at the University of Saint-Louis – Brussels (Belgium).

She obtained in 2009 a PhD in Law after defended a thesis entitled “The factors of criminalization and the resistances in the decriminalization of the drug use in Belgium. From international control to security concerns”. She is the author of different books and numerous papers on criminal law, criminal procedure and drugs policies.

She is the director of the Research Group in Penal and Criminal policies (GREPEC) and member of the Interdisciplinary Seminar of legal studies (SIEJ) at the University of Saint-Louis.
